Mostly because it has truly changed my life in ways that casual interactions "IRL" never seemed to be able to.

You're so right though, the thought of me walking around, interacting with people, and then having them run down the hall and say "hey, let me tell you what Lisa just said" is laughable.

Through Twitter, I've been able to meet hundreds of people with whom I connect *over ideas*. It's given me advice, inspiration, information, business leads, laughs -- and yeah, sometimes mindless chatter. Don't hold it against me. :)lisahickeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14422163294388379387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3015748.post-12021279405365281832010-10-01T07:12:52.466-07:002010-10-01T07:12:52.466-07:00Good points and interesting take on the study. This is a perfect illustration, if we needed one, that so many people just don't "get" social media. They're too focussed on the business aspect.Andy Guntonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00402607157584209849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3015748.post-67182717064260576382010-09-30T08:37:11.428-07:002010-09-30T08:37:11.428-07:00I guess this all underlines a widespread misunders...I guess this all underlines a widespread misunderstanding of just what social media is all about. The so-called social media "experts" want to sell measurable results; many in the public don't know any better.

Hmmm....I think I'll retweet this article...I hope you don't un-follow! ;)Rickflixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00851091100831706043noreply@blogger.com
