I think I'll now make it official that I am ending my monthly column on Suite101 as of today - There will be no May column.

First, the idea of doing a column on electoral politics, particularly third party electoral politics, in the months following an election year doesn't really bring the masses to ones door. Nobody cares, and I'm not so sure I do either. That's the main thing.

Also, after being burned by Themestream ($500+) and TheVines ($30+), I'd rather bail on Suite101 while I'm still ahead (almost, they owe me for April's column, but they've got a couple of weeks to not be dead beats).

From now on, all new original online content goes directly to my home site. Only exceptions must involve cash up front.

And that goes for eThis! too. I truly doubt there'll be another issue of that ill-fated project. (But go ahead and read the archives of the three surviving issues).

Good news for pornography fans:

It has been reported that with the impending strikes of the writers and actors, second rung Hollywood technical people and actors - the folks who actually have to work for a living - have been looking for work in the soft-core porn industry. A kind of professional musical chairs, where everybody takes a step back on the feeding chain. (The regular porn folks, presumably, will be forced down into cleaning off the seats at x-rated theatres.)

Now, the radio broadcast I got that from stopped at that point, but it got me thinking. With crews used to making "real" movies, and some performers who've actually got "acting" experience, this could bring about a new golden age of pornography. Not that I'm advocating anything here, I'm just trying to look on the bright side of things.

This is the first posting to Ken's Random Thoughts Weblog. I know it's not terribly interesting yet. All the good stuff is kept at home.

What will this be used for? Good question. Probably unfinished ideas, or concepts for longer works that I don't have the time or inclination to write yet. Maybe some observations that seem truly important at the moment, but look rather silly the next morning. Probably some political rants, and quite possibly some rather mundane diary-type journal entries.

If you'd like to read completed works, please check out my short stories, memoirs, political pieces, or general interest articles.

Thanks for visiting.
